Today we’d like to introduce you to Austun Reid.
My journey into the entertainment industry and content creation is a wild ride that started back in 2020. I landed my dream internship role as the Lead Digital Intern for DeVon Franklin’s production company, “Franklin Entertainment.” I had this crazy passion for entertainment and content creation, so when COVID hit and we were stuck in the house, I used this time to really seek out what I wanted to do. I hustled like crazy, juggling between being the best intern ever, being a full-time college student, and creating amazing authentic content.
In April 2020, I uploaded a Video to TikTok that blew up like crazy hitting 60+ million views! Suddenly, my face was everywhere, from celeb pages to news outlets, and I even got featured on “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” this mind-blowing moment opened my eyes to endless possibilities. I knew I had to keep going, keep creating, and keep inspiring people with my work and soon I started building my tribe of amazing supporters. After around 18 months of giving all I could to the Franklin Entertainment scene, I decided it was time to level up and spread my wings.
In January 2022, I took a leap of faith and soft launched my very own digital marketing and talent management agency – “A. Michael Agency.” I started attracting some dope clients and in March of that same year, the HBO Max Original Series “Sweet Life: Los Angeles” allowed yours truly to be a guest star on an episode (S2 E5) and I used that opportunity to continue to push my brand and reel in even more exciting clients.
Walking into my fourth and final year of college at the esteemed Oakwood University, I was honored to be crowned as The 8th Mister Oakwood University. Aside from this amazing opportunity to serve and represent my HBCU, my biggest accomplishment was switching my major from finance to marketing a WEEK into this final year and still being able to graduate on time with the BEST class of 2022.
After graduation, I hit the road, living my best post-grad life! I was traveling, creating even more inspiring and authentic content, and growing my business like the “Baus” I am. Then, in December 2022, I decided to go all-in on my dreams, packed up my life, and headed straight to the city of Angels – Los Angeles! It was a leap of faith, but hey, fortune favors the bold, right?
9 months later, here I am, standing tall in the city of dreams, ready to conquer Hollywood and beyond. My journey has been a whirlwind, filled with viral sensations, unforgettable experiences, and a whole lot of “wow” moments and this is just the beginning. I’m here to shake things up, create magic, and inspire the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been the easiest road; Firstly moving out here was not the smoothest, I came out here with $2000, no official job & was sleeping on a family friend’s couch who lived about an hour and some change away from LA. My agency was doing well, but I was still in the process of building and it wasn’t enough to keep afloat the expenses of moving out to a new city and getting my life together, but I had a dream and nothing was gonna stop me from reaching that.
I was traveling every day to LA about 3 hours round trip each day, just networking, and getting my face out there it was tough, but I eventually got more clientele & got my dream job in the TV Producing space, but even that came with some challenges as the two shows I was working on got shut down due to the Writers & Actors strike and my job in that space was compromised.

I work in so many different spaces:
– I produce: I work in scripted and unscripted tv and also produce my own content.
– I manage talent: I’m known for helping inspiring actors, content creators, etc. bridge the gap and help create relationships between the people they want to work with & the industry they want to work in.
– I’m a content creator: So I make daily content on Instagram, TikTok & YouTube
– I also do digital marketing so I create digital strategies for social media, create digital content/assets, and overall run social media platforms

I lastly want to give a shout-out to a few people. Firstly I want to give a huge shout out to my parents who have been my biggest supporters and have helped me navigate through this crazy journey. They have been there for me time and time again, laughing and crying with me, hearing all my crazy ideas, and pushing me to go harder every day. God has truly blessed me with some amazing parents to have in my life and I love you both so much. I also want to shout out to my siblings, Jalen, Lauryn, Aeric, Jourdon, Jillienne, and my bonus sister Ciara for supporting me and loving me through this journey and being so supportive. Lastly, shout out to all of my amazing grandparents, my aunts, uncles, friends, and cousins, too many to name, but you all know who you are thank you for being some amazing individuals who I can lean on, I truly love each and every one of you all!
