Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Berrier.
Hi Autumn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A Raleigh North Carolina based award-winning modern engagement + wedding photographer who has been in the wedding industry for more than 13 years and has photographed over 300 weddings. Her non-traditional, contemporary aesthetic captures the authentic bond of the couple on the other side of her lens. Several of her weddings have been published in local and national wedding and bridal publications.
In the beginning, Autumn took on families, high-school seniors, newborns, etc. When she had her first engagement session, she was in love. Although she still photographs her past client’s family sessions, her first and forever love will always be weddings.
Recently, Autumn has decided to make her personal mission to provide a safe and relaxed space for photographers to let down their hair and help them discover what’s been lying dormant within them in order to level up. Her photography knowledge and experience has translated into coaching and mentoring other wedding photographers who have gone on to achieve major booking rate success after learning Autumn’s core values and photography principles.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Struggling to find time for me and my family. Years ago, I would take on anyone that came my way. However, I have decided to truly take on only couples that I connect with. With that, I am able to provide my couples a true and genuine experience due taking on only limited amount of weddings a year, In return, I have been able to make more time for my sweet family and even time for myself to reset my energy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Every time I am around a group of photographers, they know immediately when I see a hard line/light…that I am going to try and grab it and incorporate it into the picture. This allows beautiful depth, contrast, and even a more interesting image that sets itself apart from everyone else’s.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband and daughter are huge cheerleaders for me. No matter what, they support me with every decision I make in order for me to take it to the next level. My inspiration are the people I surround myself with. I have so many talented and creative friends, I just allow them to rub of onto me.
