Today we’d like to introduce you to Auxpt.
Hi Auxpt, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a genre-blending artist from Columbia, South Carolina, crafting emotionally driven music that merges rap, R&B, melodic hip-hop, and atmospheric storytelling. Coming from the South, my sound reflects a balance of soul, struggle, and introspection—music shaped by late nights, real conversations, and lived experience.
My influences include Drake’s emotional transparency, Kendrick Lamar’s narrative depth, J. Cole’s grounded realism, Kanye West’s boundary-pushing creativity, JAY-Z’s timeless confidence, and André 3000’s fearless individuality. Drawing from these inspirations, I blend sharp lyricism with melodic expression, focusing on honesty, mood, and storytelling rather than trends.
Career-wise, I’ve built an independent catalog centered on concept-driven releases and personal narratives, including the project The Voicemail, a body of work built around emotional snapshots, missed connections, and personal growth. I focus on creating cohesive projects that feel intentional, using music as a way to document moments, emotions, and evolution.
Rather than following formulas, I prioritize connection—making music that feels like a private conversation you weren’t meant to hear, but needed to hear
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My struggles was being a young dad still tryna do music. And coming from South Carolina at the time I was growing up it was a pull you down type of environment. No one wanted to see no one grow past them.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I can say I’m proud of my drive and the awards I have gained. From performer of the year to battle rap rookie of the year. Making my city’s top 100 rappers of all time list. The list hopefully a keep going. I’m proud of the connections I have made. HMG,live oak ent, my family at hylo art, Karolina royalty, and I cant forget everyone that’s on and helps me run KMG. The past few years have been amazing.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
For a minute I was energized happy all the time. Life it me young and I didn’t know how to deal with it. Not really having no one to guide me. I started acting out a lot and that made it worse to the point I just shut my self in. I stopped trusting people. Wouldn’t talk if I didn’t know you. And it hurt my music career into I got older. I can say music helped me change that mentality and become more of a people person.
