Today we’d like to introduce you to Averianna Patton. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Averianna the Personality was born in 2015. Started as a multimedia journalist covering local hard news and quickly longed to cover entertainment news. In 2017 Averianna graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s in Multimedia Journalism and moved to L.A soon after. While in LA Averianna was able to work several carpets and work on sets of some of your favorite shows to date. After a year on the west coast Averianna travels back down south for an opportunity on set of Pickler and Ben in Nashville, TN as a talent assistant. She had the opportunity to experience firsthand the ultimate dream job for herself. After season 2 wasn’t picked up Averianna was forced to get back into corporate America so she thought. She started nannying and serving at a local bar. In 2020 she was presented an opportunity to work as a jock on a new online radio station Streetz 99.3 and honestly the rest is history. She has since then been dominating the radio scene in her hometown which leads her to be The Voice of Cashville. She now is a radio jock for iHeart’s, 101.1 FM the Beat.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! I was definitely counted out being from a city that is home of country music it stacked the odds even higher. She had always been told to go elsewhere Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York because her city simply couldn’t provide what she wanted which was hip-hop representation. Although I had the opportunity to work in those amazing cities my purpose was tied to my hometown Nashville, TN. Averianna is the first native to ever grace the radio waves for Nashville’s Home for Hip-Hop and R&B. She is the first to ever bring local hip-hop artists into the studio let alone play their music live on air. This is just the beginning for Averianna the Personality.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am known for the legacy I have been building for myself and the city of Nashville, TN. I’m mostly known as Nashville’s Radio and the Voice of Cashville, a tv and radio personality. I am most proud of being the one, the first to break that glass ceiling to show my people the opportunity is right here, we don’t have to go anywhere despite what it has been in the past.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Man just stay the course, don’t get attached to anything or anyone. Trust the God will send you what and who you need to be in your life. You must trust yourself though.
