Daily Inspiration: Meet Bailey Metz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Metz.

Hi Bailey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started practicing modeling when I was a young girl. My mom and I would watch America’s Next Top Model and I would practice alongside the television while the show would go on. I’ve gotten most of my tips and tricks there, however a good friend of mine Kenny started photographing me at 18yrs old, then a man named Jonathan took me under the rest of the way in the beginning. He taught me the ins and outs of how to and how not to pose. I would do dramatic poses, sometimes show a little to much under the nose, and he would critique it. Then, a woman named Courtney came along and I started working with her. Her photography skills and ideas are off the charts. Since five years ago, I have been busting my body to make sure I get to where the end goal is. With that being said, I have walked runway for two years. From Wisconsin to California. I’m not done yet. This is just the beginning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, yes. There has been bumps along the road, but when they come along, I try to deal with them as best as possible. Whether it be a rude photographer or getting in a funk where all creativity is out the window. I always find my way back to where I am headed.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Well, I am a model. I also coach modeling to upcoming models or people just interested in learning how to pose/walk/act with a photographer.

What do I specialize in?
Anything whether it be posing in a studio or out walking the runway, this is my profession.

What am I known for?
Coming through. I show up and deliver 100% every single time. This is no game to me. I feel little to no competition. I am extremely happy with myself and how far I have come as a person. Also, my sense of style/ink/“look”.

What am I most proud of?
I’m proud of myself for finally kicking my butt into gear. I was doubting myself the first couple of years, still am very hard on myself, but that is how I grow. I was afraid to go outside of Wisconsin for modeling, but I kicked into another gear and said, “If you want it that bad, you will go and get it.” So I did.

What sets me apart from others?
Everyone always compliments how I have my own style and how I don’t fit in. I don’t try to fit in. I want to go against (most of the time) and turn those heads! Having ink or a shaved head doesn’t mean that I am not worthy enough for Gucci, Burberry, H&M, etc. I am just another model that is trying to make it to that level and someday, I will be there walking alongside the other models in those big stadiums for fashion shows.

What’s next?
I am always signing up for the next thing that comes past my eyesight. I eventually want to get out of Wisconsin, being 23 years old and needing to get to a bigger city/area that is better for my future in modeling.
