Daily Inspiration: Meet Brandon Matthews

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Matthews.

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Early in life, I recognized that I was more fulfilled by helping others find fulfillment. I’m passionate about helping others be the best they can be. This desire inspired me to lead various organizations, teams, non-profits, and businesses for over 20 years. My insight comes from launching and leading a multi-site church (Cultivate Church) with my beautiful wife of 14 years Jen along with our six years old son Asher; leading customer service teams for Apple Inc., and training various organizations how to be the best version of themselves.

Here is some feedback from Jeffrey C. Hunter, Founder and CEO of Storyteller Overland:

“Brandon Matthews is the rare thought leader who truly understands the importance of both the big picture (Vision) as well as the significance of each individual brush stroke (Strategy). His passion for building people to unleash the full potential of an organization is contagious, and his practical insights for the day-to-day disciplines of excellence will revolutionize the way you add value to your customers’ lives. Whether you and your team are seeking to better define your core values or authentically engage your target audience, you will benefit immensely from Brandon Matthews’ incisive communication principals and effective training style.”

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We all desire a smooth road, but it’s often our struggles that bring us the most success. My struggles have stretched me to seek solutions that not only benefit my life but those who I lead along the way. The majority of what I share with clients is life and leadership that has been lived and learned over the past 20 years.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
70% of Americans either hate their jobs or are totally unengaged at work, and 95% said they would consider leaving their jobs altogether. I want to help you bring meaning back to the marketplace by helping your team find passion and purpose in key areas of your organization. Your team is the conduit of your culture. They give what they have been given. I want to give them a reminder of the why behind what they do.

My strategy is comprised of three levels of leadership. I want to help your organization grow through Private, Public, and Professional leadership development. My strategy focuses on the internal growth of individuals and teams to produce a healthy external result in your customers.

There are 7 stages to every organization, each with its own unique challenges and consequences. I will help you assess which stage your organization is in and tailor a level of leadership to your organization.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
COVID-19 has left the marketplace in complete chaos. There are many more jobs than workers to fill them. Employees are quitting in record numbers, there are supply shortages, there is the impact of inflation, remote work, and the still unknown impact the shutdown had on us all mentally and physically.

In the midst of all of the challenges, I find that purpose and meaning is still what motivates. One of the greatest needs in each organization is to remember the why behind what they do and to find meaning in the marketplace. I spend a great deal of time on the importance each person plays within an organization to help them realize the difference that they make. It truly changes the atmosphere and culture of the company.
