Daily Inspiration: Meet Bryan Ross

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Ross.

Hi Bryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was raised in a family where all my cousins were hustlers so I ended up doing the same thing… I guess I will start in Orlando, FL I was 13 years old. Me, my mom, my sister, and one of my younger brothers, “his in the county right now facing a murder charge”, lived in one of the worse parts of Orlando, FL. The projects we stayed in was crazy. I ended up finding a baby in a dumpster once. But, I loved music, around this time people still had cassette tapes. So I would get my mom’s cassette tapes and put paper in the two holes at the bottom, and record over the music while beating on a toy box I had. Since then I have been experimenting with words. We ended up moving back to my hometown “Fort Myers, FL” after a while, I stayed in trouble. Selling this and selling that I caught a few sell charges and then I was out again. I was in drug court, every day I had to wake up and call this number and if it was my color that day I had to go pee. I couldn’t take living in a box anymore… I went to Hollywood, CA which was just a book bag full of raps, on the run. They had me on the news in my city as a wanted fugitive but I didn’t care. They didn’t catch me until like three years later! I would say it was worth it! Because I went through a lot on them Cali streets. I also went through Las Vegas streets and learned some things too!

I got released from prison after being expedited from Las Vegas, NV.

I had to start from scratch. I left Florida and went back to Las Vegas. I didn’t have anybody to help me. I was homeless and hungry. I had to find a way on my own. Thanks to god… I found a way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road but it’s the struggles that really mold you into that person you are supposed to be. I was homeless even in the winter. I had to run in Burlington and steal my jacket and shoes.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a HipHop artist, I try to in courage and motivate through my music. “I have a gigantic Star in the middle of my forehead, and I’m covered in tattoos. You gonna notice me.

I’m most proud of myself for not giving up.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m really tall.
