Today we’d like to introduce you to Cami Stafford.

Hi Cami, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I really started on TikTok. I did all kinds of tutorials, creative looks, etc. I started having friends reach out and ask if I could do their makeup and hair for their weddings, boudoir shoots, maternity pictures, etc. I was a stay-at-home mom at the time so I loved the idea of doing something I love and making some extra money. Business got busy fast! I had thought Glam By Cam would be a part-time job I did on some weekends. Boy was I wrong, in the best way possible. I started working 3-4 weekdays plus weekends. I love this industry. I’m constantly learning and growing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s definitely been some bumps in the road. When I first started Glam By Cam I kept doubting myself. That has been the main obstacle I have faced is my own self-doubt. When you start a business, it’s a lot of commitment! I was SO scared of failing! You’ll never know if you don’t try! I started to realize my worth and my self-doubt withered away. My husband gave me constant reassurance along with my best friend. I met so many new people working in the industry and they also gave me reassurance. The people I work with wholeheartedly believe in me. That’s such an amazing support system to have.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an Event & Bridal HMUA. I specialize in Boudoir & Bridal hair and makeup. I’m most known for my full glam & soft glam transformations. I’m most proud of my progress. I firmly believe in the industry you can constantly learn new things. No matter how long you’ve been in the industry! I’m constantly learning and improving my skills. I’m a very motivated and positive person. I can make a friend out of a brick wall. Most of my clients become friends! I believe having a connection with your clients is very important! Being able to make that connection, & make your client comfortable is what sets me apart from other artists. The Glam By Cam experience isn’t just about makeup & hair. It’s also about making the experience personal, making a friend, and making your client comfortable.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is defined by constantly improving your skills and your business. You evolve with time. The trends are constantly changing. To be successful in this industry, you also have to evolve & learn new skills and looks.
