Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Michelle.
Hi Carrie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Carrie Michelle’s journey from Washington, D.C., to becoming an award-winning host, curator, and media personality is quite impressive. Her career began as a prominent female promoter in D.C., ultimately leading to a pivotal role as the assistant to BET’s former “Teen Summit” host, Adimu Colon.
Upon relocating to Atlanta in 2013, Carrie Michelle’s media career flourished, as she became a well-known personality on various streaming platforms, AM and FM radio, and Roku TV. Her show, “The Afterparty Show,” contributed significantly to her rising influence in the DMV area, solidifying her position as a top promoter and influencer.
Beyond her media endeavors, Carrie Michelle has made a name for herself as a top curator and event host, organizing over 20 events under her company, with a focus on the music industry and the community. She has utilized her media influence to provide platforms for artists and entrepreneurs to expand their brands in some of Atlanta’s premier venues.
Carrie Michelle is also recognized for her philanthropic efforts, hosting four yearly events in both Atlanta and the DMV, showcasing her commitment to giving back to the community. Currently, she holds the position of promotions/event manager for the nationally known brand, CRU Lounge, in Atlanta, showcasing her versatility as a one-stop shop in the entertainment industry.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest obstacle is navigating in a male dominated industry. If you stick to your principles, it might take a little longer, but the success and respect is worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Curator – Events at various venues in Atlanta and DC. Venues in Atlanta include : Magic City, VLive, Cru Lounge, Zari, Suite, Mynt Lounge, Monaco, Encore, Living Room, Ace Lounge, Josephine, and more.
I’m most proud of the consistency and growth as a female in the nightlife industry.
What sets me apart is the personable customer service that everyone gets. Everyone is family to me. No matter who you are I treat everyone like a celebrity. No one is a NOBODY at my events.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
