Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Conner.
Hi Chase, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, I was born in Texas, and moved to Atlanta around the age of seven. I was blessed enough to live close to Atlanta when the hip hop scene exploded there and that’s what shaped my love of music. I started making music and content around 2018. It was all bad at first. Luckily for me, I realized I was naturally funny and then when TikTok came around I used that to really let my life as an artist and K-pop Stan shine. I’m 29 and just getting started. I like to call myself the male Lizzio.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road. I’ve had bad contracts, lost family and friends because of the life I lead. Had a producer get arrested for some serious crimes and I had to take down the song I had with him, which was my biggest song at that time. Had another producer lie and say I stole music simply because I wouldn’t overpay and got my songs taken down due to the lack of paperwork. Was cussed out by my last label for setting boundaries. Not to mention the thousands of people online who don’t like me. But I take it all in stride.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a K-pop tiktoker, I make pop rap music, I write songs for other artists and I own a small record label. I believe what sets me apart of others is my commitment to honesty. So much of music or rap today is lying and being someone you’re not. I think what sets me apart is the clear fact you can’t name 5 rappers like me. I’m also a bisexual rapper. So there is that.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My cousin Jonathan. He has been there throughout everything, the highs and the lows, the tears and the good times. He reminds me it’s okay to walk away and take a break. He always keeps it honest with me and I respect it. He also works in the entertainment industry but we have never even talked about working together. It’s always about the progression of my mind and life
