Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Simone.
Hi Chloe, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Atlanta, and raised in a home where creativity lived in everything. My grandmother baked, sewed, arranged flowers, made wreaths and gift baskets, taught piano—she showed me early that art always has a place in this world.
I grew up extremely shy, the girl who barely spoke and even staged a mini revolt to avoid dance class. Writing became the one space where I could speak without fear. I would share a few poems here and there with small circles, but definitely never publicly. Those inner perceptions of my reality would become the early recognitions of me defining who I would become as a woman.
So when I experienced the lowest point of my life, when my little sister passed, writing is what kept me together. I had spent so much of my life being the “good girl,” hiding my truth, defining myself by roles instead of identity. Loss made me ask, What do I have to lose? And one day I realized: I wanted to be seen.
I was a working mom of four, on the edge of my marriage ending, when I published my first book—and it opened the door to a beautiful creative community. Since then, I’ve released two more poetry books, with my fourth—a collaborative poetic project—arriving in December.
I created my first virtual poetry anthology and am now building a second shining a spotlight on mental health. I co-created a writing Discord where authors will have access to workshops and classes so that they can also learn how to self-publish. I founded Chloe Simone Studio, a space dedicated to developing and curating artists’ visual projects so they can shine, grow, and be seen too.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Fear was my greatest obstacle. Not the kind that stops you from doing something once, but the quiet, lingering fear that convinces you to stay invisible. I battled fear of speaking up, fear of disappointing people, fear of choosing myself.
Learning to trust my own voice—and allowing myself to be seen—changed everything. That was my turning point.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a writer, poet, and creative director whose work blends storytelling, visual art, and emotional truth. I specialize in creating spaces where people feel seen — in their healing, their relationships, and their becoming. My poetry and visual projects put a focus on honest conversation and transparency.
What I’m most proud of is how far my voice has come. I started as an extremely shy girl who only spoke through journals, and now I’ve published three poetry books with a fourth on the way. I’ve created two virtual poetry anthologies, co-founded a writing community that teaches authors how to self-publish, and launched Chloe Simone Studio — a company dedicated to helping artists bring their creative visions to life through visual storytelling, production, and development.
What sets me apart is the intention behind my work. My intention is to create safe spaces that allow people to feel, reflect, and recognize themselves. My work is rooted in the belief that creativity is a form of connection.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is when my little sister, my stepbrother, and I took every brand-new comforter from the house and built a giant tent in the backyard. My mom had just bought her first home, so those comforters were fresh out of the bags. When she came home, she was searching everywhere for my stepdad and finally found him outside in the tent with us. It’s a memory that still makes me laugh.
