Daily Inspiration: Meet Christy Ervin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Ervin.

Hi Christy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a little girl, I can remember saving my allowances and I would share with my friends who were less fortunate. My parents didn’t know but I loved the feeling of being able to help others. I realized at an early age that helping others would become a passion of mine. I was born and raised in a small city called Waynesboro, GA. After graduation from high school, while most of my friends went off to college, I decided to work and save money for one year before I ventured out into the college setting. I recalled having quite a bit of money saved as a freshman and was able to pay for my college necessities without any help. My dad always instilled strong work ethics in me. He was a go getter, hard worker and a people’s person. I’m the spitting image of my dad.

I attended Middle GA College in Cochran GA, where I earned dual associate degrees in applied sciences and psychology. I was also crowned Homecoming Princess and Miss Sweetheart my freshman year. After completion of my junior college, I attended Georgia Southern University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation and I later earned my second bachelor’s degree In Health Informatics at Medical College of GA, formerly known as Augusta University Medical Center where I graduated cum laude.

During my 10-year tenure in the medical field, I discovered my love of real estate and marketing. I flirted with idea of real estate for years before taking the plunge in 2017. My medical background and working closely with people prepared me significantly. Real Estate is not only a career but a passion of mine. Just being able to help others accomplish a goal such as buying or selling a home is one of the best feelings in the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been a smooth one. Honestly, being a new agent can be quite scary. Finding a brokerage where you fit in and get the tools that you need in order to be successful can be challenging. I felt myself getting discouraged at times, but I knew giving up would never be an option for me. I knew if I worked hard and connected with the right people that I would become successful. I believe that God will always put you where you need to be at his timing if you just have the faith. After a year of being in real estate, I was introduced to Kiesha Jones, who is a beast in the real estate industry. I was an admirer way before I met her. I was finally able to become part of her team. Kiesha taught me a lot in real estate. She was an awesome mentor. I gained so much knowledge from her. After about two years working closing with her, I reconnected with my high school English teacher Elizabeth Billips, who also is now real estate agent. She encouraged me to take the leap of faith and become an independent agent with her company and I have been flourishing ever since. Without my struggles, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I know that this is only the beginning for me and the best is yet to come.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m currently a licensed agent in Georgia and South Carolina. As a Real Estate Agent, I help clients purchase and sell property. I would say that I specialize in being a Buyer’s Agent. Finding homes for families, especially their very first home, is what I love most. “Handing over the key to a new house is one of the best feelings and proudest moments in the world…. Knowing that my hard work, dedication, faith, time and effort paid off.”

What sets me apart from others is my passion, determination, and being able to communicate effectively and listen to each client’s needs and wants. I work extremely hard for all my clients and treat all my clients with integrity. It doesn’t matter if the purchase is $20,000 or $200,000, I treat all my deals as if there were million dollars homes.
