Daily Inspiration: Meet Corey Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Jones.

Hi Corey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been interested in fashion from all aspects from the clothing to the materials used and even the accessories that help top everything off since I started my sophomore year in college. Took a few fashion electives during my four years as a graphic design student and getting my BFA, I started off as just a graphic designer and, with experience over the years, receiving the title Senior Graphic Designer for an agency called Modo Modo.

I had the pleasure of growing and learning from that company for over six years, which years later led to me venturing into starting a clothing line with my best friend and co-partner, Jerod Sutton, BRTHRS Clothing. But what led to me creating FrescoThreads was that I always have owned hundreds of hats, whether snapbacks, fitted caps, beanies, skull caps. If I could wear it on my head, I owned it. So AllStar weekend was in my great city this year so I thought it would be a great idea to launch my new brand to the city during an event we haven’t seen in our city since 2003. So, in March of 2021, I dropped my first line of hats.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely hasn’t been smooth. Been some weeks we’re I sell out of everything I had to bring full stock and not one sale all month. I’m in the infancy stage and also have a brand that I started with my friend three years ago. This was expected, even with me connected to BRTHRS.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m currently a Creative Director/Designer that helps to build brands and institutions throughout the metro Atlanta area. I’ve worked with several widely known companies and even some mom-and-pop shops in our local neighborhoods.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as being able to make things happen for myself and others around me without any dependence on a company that looks at me as just as an employee. Being able to provide generational and wealth-changing knowledge to empower others to make decisions that will better then and to see it come to fruition is what success is to me, leaving a mark on someone’s life and it being a positive one.
