Today we’d like to introduce you to Cortez Bufford.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey My Name Is Cortez! I’m From a small town called Auburn, AL. I’m 19 and I run a clothing brand called “Deprived Benefits”, A Model, and upcoming Youtuber! I would say about 2 years i was working and going to school and realized that it wasn’t for me so i tried many things like trading, i started youtube but didn’t take it serious and many other things but i lacked confidence in myself so i was crushed when i was seeing no progress in what i was doing. Fast Forward a couple of months i lost my grandma on my birthday and fell into a deep hole with sadness and constantly questioned God? Not later I started going back to church and gave my life back to Christ and that’s where it all Changed!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some challenges I faced getting where I’m at today were lust, lack of self confidence and self discipline, and a lot of mental issues. I can say it hasn’t been a smooth road, I was constantly fighting with comfortability with the uncomfortable and just putting myself out there to others to see my fashion sense and my brand.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I feel like readers should know that I’m really like an outstanding person when comes to fashion. I like to experiment a lot of styles and just be myself. Not caring what other people say about it or think. Im currently focused on building generational wealth while also building my relationship with Christ. Just being who I am truly and putting my 100% in everything that I do!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Some important lessons that I’ve learned are Stop doubting and letting fear take control of what you want to do with your life. You don’t have to have it all figured out right away because it’s a learning process. To elevate you have to make mistakes to grow in that area that you lack in! Another big thing I learn is just to put God first in everything that we do because without him nothing is possible!
