She decided it was time for a career change, which didn’t happen over night. With blood, sweat, and tears. She grind. She went to school 3 a days 12 hours and worked the other 4 days 8 hour shift’s. She had no days off for 1 year. In 2015, where she graduated from Aveda Institute of Atlanta with a Master Cosmetology Certification.

she specialized in special occasions hair including weddings, proms, and formal events, etc. While attending Aveda, she volunteered with Job Corp and the Shepherd Center, as well as Dinner for Divas and fashion shows at Clark Atlanta University and Kissworkstudios creations.

She continues to pour into her clients and work. While balancing family!

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends,as well as traveling and shopping.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The first struggle for me was choosing me. Making a decision to just change my life around by changing my career. Changing my mindset. I knew when I registered for school it was about to be a journey. I had to discipline myself. I knew for one year there would be no days off. I went to school for 3 days 12 hours each day. The other 4 days I had to work 8 hours shifts. I shared my car with my son, who was a senior in high school. There would be days I would have to wait for him to come pick me up. Once I graduated, it was a relief, but the grind wasn’t over it was just the beginning. I had to find a way to build my client. I worked everyday at the salon. Mostly weekends. The 1 or 2 days I had off I found another salon job to fill up those days.

Working under a Master stylist can do one or two things. It can make you better than you think you are or it can break you down from how good you think you are. You either going to learn from it or decide that this isn’t for you.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What’s wow is I do it all! When I went for my Master License. That’s what I wanted to be a Master in all areas. I specialize in Coloring, Hair Extensions, Round Brushing and layering haircuts. I’m known for doing every ethnicity hair there is. I’m most proud of stepping out on faith and deciding to work for myself! I feel what sets me apart from others is the fact that I can cut any men’s hair cut, then do color service on any ones hair, then extensions, then a silk press, or maybe a blow out with a round brush, then a curly cut styled with a diffuser, then I can do a pixie cut molded under the dryer then hand curled with a tiny flat iron. If you sit in my chair, we are doing a service no matter the ethnicity!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up in a two parent household with a brother that was 7 years older than me. I had to use my imagination a ton. I had tons of friends in the neighborhood as well as a few bullies in school. I guess having an older brother he helped me with courage and not letting people take advantage of me or bully me. I was kind hearted. friendly, compassionate, caring, fashionable, creative and very competitive. I love drawing in my spare time or on punishment. I love dancing. I created a dance group in middle school and we made up dances for the school talent shows. I love playing dress up like as if I was in a fashion show. I love playing with my dolls, especially styling their hair. I love playing school with my friends as well as riding my bike around the neighborhood or playing tag. I love racing any and everyone didn’t matter their age. Especially my brother’s friends. I always thought and knew I was the fastest.
