Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Dannucci.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Ink&Lace the fashion event was created in 2021 and produced in 2022. We are currently planning our 4th show after a year break. Ink&lace came about when myself (a veteran model) was denied a spot in a show I had walked in numerous times due to my tattoos. I was told my tattoos would take away from the designers showcase. I was appalled and motivated. I then created a platform for alternative models who have tattoos that can not be hidden. No matter what clothing is worn this persons tattoos will show. Everyone should have a chance to live out a dream of walking for a fashion show not based on what they look like or how little tattoos they have. We are now working with a non profit organization project no labels, who concentrates on mental health for the lbgtqia+ and allies community. Giving people a chance for affordable mental health care. Which is so needed in every community. With how scrutinized tattoos and alternative models are we struggle with mental health too. Which is why we choose to partner up with such a great cause.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road per say. All good things come with some bumps in the road.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a 20 year hospitality worker. I work almost 7days a week to be able to put on this show once a year. I work my tail off to be able to give other women a chance at what I was graciously given over the years. I want women to feel what I have felt all these years walking in fashion shows. I would say my drive sets me a part from the rest . Once I have something in my sites it a wrap
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I would say I have had some good luck. I say this because I am blessed to have met the people in my life who helped me along the way to make this show what it is today.
