Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Harvey. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Danielle is a multifaceted queer single mom. She shines on the runway as a plus-sized model and makes her mark in the beauty industry as a freelance MUA! She’s also a humanitarian who thrives on mentoring youth and helping others in the community. Her love of makeup comes from an abusive relationship she was in many years ago. She was working as a cashier and customers were complaining about her bruises and unfortunately at that time it wasn’t an option to simply leave that relationship in her mind so she did the next best thing and hid her scars.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been many obstacles but what keeps me going is my Daughter. When I first began doing freelance makeup I would catch Marta to people’s house and depending on the time of the appointment and location id have to miss out due to not being able to get there. I’ve missed several major opportunities due to not being able to get to the client but I always remember what’s for me will always be for me what is meant to be will always be.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m kind of a jill of all trades in the beauty industry. My day to day clientele loves being pampered and receiving mini facials and full glam makeup. I focus on my client’s skin because that’s the canvas if you will. I also work on set doing makeup for photoshoots and as a creative director and wardrobe stylist. My dream however is special ex makeup. I’d love to be brought on set and learn some things. My wildest dream is to hear someone say “ did you see that dead body or scary monster it looked so real “ and it was me that created that lol.
Any big plans?
In the future, I’d love to have an actual brick and mortar for my business, a full-service beauty salon that’s all mine with lots and lots of clientele so i never have to worry about how I’ll pay my bills and to be doing something that I love for the rest of my life.
