Deja, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Professionally I started out in Los Angeles dancing for Zendaya for about three years from 2012-2015. From there, I started to build a small following on social media. Stay consistent with content creation my small following eventually turned into hundreds of thousands across all social platforms and opened up so many doors for me. Since then, I’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the game, toured the world, and built my own brand Love N Artistry.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has NOT been an easy road at all! In the beginning, my biggest struggle was understanding not everyone could see the greatness in me that I saw in myself. I had to fight long and hard to gain the respect of the rest of the world. I received a lot of NOs before every YES.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional dancer, choreographer, creative director, business owner, and leader. I typically bring an artist’s vision to life on stage & behind the, teach dance classes around the world, and run my company. I created Love N Artistry in 2019 with my partner to bring value back into communities. What sets us aside from others is the fact we aren’t afraid to give these young boys and girls all the tools they need to be successful. We don’t hold our resources back, we help & push our students to reach their goals. The icing on the cake, the mentorship is FREE.
What matters most to you?
My family & my team mean the most to me. When it’s all said and done they’ll always be right there to pick me up when I’m down & encourage me to keep going. Everything I’m currently doing is to give them a better life. My biggest goal is to not only constantly elevate my life but theirs too.
