Dexaray, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I originally worked at a spa in Cleveland Ohio before relocating to Georgia and working at a spa called NU You Detox Spa, where I learned new skills to add on top of the skills I already had and it inspired me to start my own spa Internal Utulivu as a place for holistic healing, detoxing, body esthetics, and relaxation which is what the Utulivu means in Swahili a language I took in college.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, when Covid hit my business took it hard due to it being a hands on contact business and being in another persons personal space when it was a 6ft rule on top of mask rule. I also
Struggled with not knowing how to truly market my business and learn the ropes as a new business owner.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love the sauna detoxes that I do and slimming body wraps. Those are 2 of my favorite things to do because it not only heals you internally, it physically shrinks your waste and stomach fat. When the women and men leave my spa they feel smaller and lighter and like they released toxic build up in their body and energy as well.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how Atlanta has so many different things to do and places to see! It also has a very fun night light and food scene. I like lease about Atlanta is that Atlanta is very competitive I hate that it feels over saturated at times and like it’s more catered to celebrities than the every day Atlantian.
