Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Luii Alva.
DJ Luii, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My love for music began early in my childhood years but my passion for being a DJ came about during my 7th Grade year. During the pep rallies and school dances Mr. Bailey who at the time was our band director would DJ most of our school events. His energy and the way he would get all the students hyped made me fall in love with the art of being a DJ.
Fast forward after that I took it upon myself to learn more of what a DJ was. I fell in love with the process and every day I learned something new about it. I started to find DJs that would post their work on YouTube and for hours I would watch them in action. I wanted the lifestyle, the shows, the respect but most importantly to do the one thing I fell in love with and that was being a DJ.
At the time I couldn’t afford equipment so what I would do is get copy paper and draw a DJ set up on it. I would listen to mixes and pretend I was doing a show.
Since then for me everything has changed. That was in 2009. I went off to high school 2010-2014 and took a break from school but in 2018 I went off to college and I attended Clark Atlanta University. The support system I created while being at CAU allowed me to reach the level of success I have today. I had a loyal friend group that would show love every time I DJ on and off campus. Events like (Meet the Greeks, Little Mr. & Ms. CAU pageants, silent parties, spring break in Miami, WSTU Radio) allowed me to create a name for myself as a DJ.
In 2020 after COVID started to die down and clubs/lounges began to reopen I took a chance and pursue this full-time. It was very scary at the time because I didn’t know if this was going to last. I’m forever grateful that after taking that leap of faith into the Industry everything worked out for me.
Now fast forward into 2022 I have established myself as an ATL DJ. My talents have put me in places I never imagined I would reach. Being able to DJ the biggest clubs in the city I am proud to say that I’m one of very few DJs that keep the nightlife in ATL going. I’m thankful for those who have worked with me and given me the opportunity to showcase what makes me … me. The love I’ve received from my city is unmatched.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, everything has been smooth. I learned early in the game to stay in my lane and focus on me. There is no competition here only with myself.

If you are reading this I just want to say FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS. No matter how big or small you may think they are go after them. Nothing is impossible when you put your mind to it.
