Daily Inspiration: Meet Dustin Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Lewis.

Hi Dustin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We’re Dustin Lewis and Matt Lewis—partners in life and in work. Our story has always been about people and place. Dustin came to real estate through the creative world—acting and coaching—where listening and trust are everything. Matt’s path ran through leadership and compliance; he loves clear systems that make big moments feel manageable. When we put those strengths together, it felt natural: one of us centers the human story, the other builds the structure to support it.

eXp Realty gave us the space to grow. We didn’t find “our people” right away, but once we did, it changed everything—mentors who saw us, leadership roles that stretched us, and a network that made collaboration feel easy. That opened the door to a bigger vision: serving clients locally while building bridges globally.

Right now we’re preparing our move to the Netherlands as eXp launches there. We’re starting FrameHouse Relocation & Real Estate to help expats, creatives, and professionals relocate with less friction—and we’ll stay actively connected with our eXp partners and clients across the U.S. At the same time, we’re launching Open Frame Studios, our acting studio and creative hub. It’s the other side of who we are: Meisner Technique, on-camera coaching and classes, producing content and a gathering space for makers.

We haven’t moved yet—we’re in the middle of it. That feels important to say. We’re building this next chapter step by step, with the same care we bring to our clients: honest conversations, clear plans, and a belief that home is both a place and a feeling you create.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a straight line. We’re selling our own home, keeping our U.S. clients supported, and laying the groundwork in Amsterdam—all at once. It’s the everyday pieces that test you: walking out with the dogs before a showing, deciding what to keep or ship, tracking documents for visas and biometrics, lining up housing, and balancing two time zones without losing the thread.

We work through it the way we coach our clients. Matt brings the contracts-and-compliance brain—lists, calendars, who-owns-what—so nothing slips. Dustin brings the coaching mindset—name the feeling, keep the goal in view, and move one clear step at a time. We’re also launching two aligned brands: FrameHouse Relocation & Real Estate for international moves and referrals, and Open Frame Studios for acting classes and creative work. That means being precise about handoffs and protective of our time blocks so both sides move forward together.

As LGBTQ founders and eXp leaders, we care about people feeling safe and seen. Sometimes that means slower decisions or different partners; it always means better outcomes.

What we’d tell anyone in a big transition: Start with calm. Name the next three steps, write them down, and do the first one well. Check in with yourself (and each other) daily: what’s working, what needs support, what can wait. Progress over perfection wins every time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We help people move their lives with as little friction as possible. Day to day we’re real estate advisors with eXp Realty. Dustin is a Real Estate Matchmaker & Global Connector—he listens for the life someone’s actually trying to build and connects the people, places, and timing to support it. Matt brings the structure as Managing Broker for Contracts & Compliance (GA) and Realtor®—turning plans into clean contracts, clear timelines, and steady communication. What clients feel is simple: calm, clarity, and a path that makes sense.

We specialize in relocation and referral-driven moves because they demand both sides of who we are—human and operational. Our approach is straightforward: set expectations early, translate complexity into plain language, and keep ownership of each step obvious so nothing gets lost between teams or time zones. We’re protective of trust; if something asks us to rush past education or compromise safety and inclusion, we say no. We’d rather move slower and do it right.

We’re proud of the community around our work—clients who stay in our lives, agents who collaborate without ego, and creatives who bring their whole selves. That’s why we’re building FrameHouse Relocation & Real Estate for international moves and a stronger global referral network, while staying closely connected with our eXp partners across the U.S. And it’s why we’re launching Open Frame Studios, our acting studio and creative hub, so the career side and the home side can support each other instead of competing for space.

If there’s one thing that sets us apart, it’s the balance: Dustin brings the human story; Matt protects the structure. Together we make big transitions feel doable—and we stay long enough to make sure the decision feels like home.

How do you think about luck?
We believe in luck, but we believe in preparation more—and lately the two have been working together. We’d already made the decision to move to Amsterdam with close friends. The plan was simple: Matt would keep his U.S.-based (virtual) role with the brokerage, and I (Dustin) would open the acting studio and build from there. Then the timing lined up in a way we couldn’t have scripted: out of all the countries eXp operates in, the Netherlands was next—launching November 27. That felt like a door swinging open at the exact moment we reached it.

It’s luck that the launch is happening where we’re headed. It’s preparation that made us ready to step into it. Years of building community, leading inside eXp, and running a referral-first business gave us the muscles to help on day one—introducing agents to the culture that changed our lives and showing how collaboration, stock, and revenue share can create real opportunity. We feel honored to be there at the beginning of something new in a country we’ll soon call home.

This timing also gives shape to our work: FrameHouse Relocation & Real Estate for international moves and trusted introductions, Open Frame Studios for the creative side of our lives, and an ongoing partnership with our eXp network across the U.S. We get to help people relocate from around the world and be part of their first chapters in the Netherlands. That’s not something we take lightly.

If there’s a lesson in it, it’s this: do the steady work so that when luck shows up, you recognize it—and you’re ready to say yes.
