Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My yoga journey wasn’t always easy. There were moments where I felt I wasn’t doing enough for my community or anything I offered was not enough. Sometimes, I became lost along the way and very unfamiliar with what I was supposed to do and who my core audience was supposed to be.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I am in the process of rebranding my yoga business and my mission. I am proud to say that after 6 years of yoga teaching and practicing, I come to realize, my mission is to challenge the stigma that yoga requires flexibility and years of experience and making yoga more accessible. Restorative, Hatha, and yin styles of yoga have been truly profound and healing for me since COVID-19, and I want to introduce yoga as a restful, healing, safe space vs. a power yoga or dynamic flow. I AM rebranding as Empowered Rest Yoga. A yoga practice dedicated to sacred rest while reclaiming your power back through rest meditation and mindfulness. This sets me apart from other Yoga businesses because it focuses more on the trauma-sensitive, healing, and profound aspects of yoga to help others experience empowerment through rest and mindfulness.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
A special shout out to my husband Isaac, who has been supportive since we first met. He is not only my cheerleader but also my sounding ear and my biggest support system. Whenever I have those moments, I feel like giving up. He always pushes me to do my absolute best and remind me all the time how wonderfully gifted I am. I am truly blessed to have a supportive husband such as him. I love you, Isaac!

Another special shoutout to my parents for also being my biggest cheerleaders, prayer warriors, and support system. Without them, I don’t think I would be where I am today.
