Today we’d like to introduce you to Elyssia Pribble.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be running my own event empire, I probably would have laughed! I spent years in the nonprofit world, and while I loved the mission-driven work, I eventually felt the itch for a new challenge.
The twist? To land an executive role in a different industry, I was told I’d need to hire a recruiter to “find” me a seat at the table. I just couldn’t stomach the idea of paying someone else to open a door I knew I could build myself. So, I took a leap of faith, grabbed a hammer, and built my own door instead!
While I was leading nonprofit events, donors and volunteers started pulling me aside, asking, “Can you help me with my personal event?” so I knew I could find clients. I
’m one of those rare birds who lives right at the intersection of Left Brain and Right Brain. I live for the “Ying and Yang” of events—the creative, beautiful design (Right Brain) married to the rigid, hyper-organized logistics (Left Brain). It turns out, that’s exactly what people were looking for.
In that first year, Raes Events grew faster than I ever anticipated. I went from a one-woman show to building an incredible team of people who share that same passion. I’m absolutely ecstatic to see where we go next, but mostly, I’m just honored I get to bring a little more “organized beauty” into the world every single day.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, I was the planner, the marketer, the accountant, and the person hauling heavy boxes at 2:00 AM. Learning to transition from “doing it all” to building and trusting a team was a huge milestone—it’s how I went from surviving wedding season to actually thriving in it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
While we are a full-service planning agency, we like to think of ourselves as your creative CFO.
We do it all—from designing the space to orchestrating the big exit—but we have a unique way of looking at the budget. We’re proud “penny-pinchers” at heart! We don’t believe in spending money just for the sake of spending it; we’re obsessed with finding the best sources and smartest ways to accomplish your vision without breaking the bank.
We actually love to “tag along” with our clients’ invoices and budgets to see where every cent is going. If there’s a way to get that high-end look for a better price, we will find it.
What “Full Service” looks like with us:
A-to-Z Design: We handle the transformation of the venue from the moment you turn the key until the final guest exits. Every room is covered in our planning—no corner is left un-styled!
In-House Decor & Balloons: We offer decor separately for those who just need the “Raes Touch,” and yes—balloons are our absolute go-to for making a statement.
The Floral Department: We are ecstatic to announce that we’ve officially opened our own floral department! Now, we can ensure your blooms perfectly match your design and your budget, all under one roof.
Whether it’s a massive decor installment or a perfectly placed balloon arch, we’re here to make sure your day is a beautiful combination of “luxury feel” and “smart spending.”
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was pretty quiet and mostly kept to myself. I definitely wasn’t the kid dreaming of being a CEO or an entrepreneur—I was just “boring” (or so I thought!).
I never played sports, but looking at my drive today, I definitely should have been. It turns out I was a high-functioning multitasking machine; I just hadn’t flipped the switch yet.
Once that switch flipped, there was no going back. I realized that my quiet focus was actually my superpower. Now, I use that “hidden” drive to lead my team, manage a million moving parts, and run Raes Events with the kind of executive energy I never knew I had. I may have been a late bloomer, but I’m certainly making up for lost time now!
