Daily Inspiration: Meet Eric Turner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Turner.

Hi Eric, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a 25 years old college dropout who has been into fashion and design as long as I can remember. My mom tells the story of how I used to cut up my Pokemon bed sheets and glue them to my walls. Ever since I was a kid I just had to put my own special touch on everything. I started experimenting with my clothes during the “jerking” era in 2009-2010. That’s when I knew in my heart that I wanted to start my own clothing brand.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy by any means. I’ve spent THOUSANDS on failed designs, business cards, and LLC’s. But with every failure, I took something from it and adapted. TWO is special because it is a direct result of all of my previous ideas that have failed.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create fashionable statement pieces. Some of my designs have been inspired from my own personal life experiences, often times I use my hardships to create. I’m most known for my design concept of two objects on the front. I use symmetrical symbols for the front and usually a quote on the back. I am extremely proud of my website, which I also designed on my own. I’m a bit of a “do it yourself-er.” Sometimes it gets interesting and sometimes it’s quite boring but nonetheless, I create on my own. I think that sets me apart from others. My creative process is very personal.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that you must keep going. You lose when you give up, and if you fail, you must adapt and rebrand. If you can do that, you will succeed in anything.
