Daily Inspiration: Meet Felix Olaitan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felix Olaitan.

Hi Felix, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My nam is Felix Olaitan aka “Flexxx360:, born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Beltsville, Maryland i grew up immersed in the sounds of 80s and 90s hip-hop. The rhythms of his African heritage played in my household daily.,but it was hip-hop that truly captivated me from an early age. love for the genre sparked while watching iconic concerts by legends like Diana Ross and Tina Turner on TV. At just 5 years old, I was introduced to hip-hop battles by my older siblings, sparking a lifelong passion for lyricism and the culture of hip-hop.

By the age of 13 i had evolved from battling siblings to taking on older, more skilled opponents, challenging myself to push my lyrical abilities and hone my skills and artistic voice. Over the years, I expanded my talents, diving into beat-making, recording my own music, and exploring the production side of the industry. I later founded my own label, Fraternity Life Entertainments, organizing shows and traveling from Atlanta to Los Angeles and Philadelphia, solidifying my commitment to making my mark in music.

My projects are different from the norm and approach subjects that most wont like “wheredidigo” talking about state of hiphop to child support making light of a very real situation in US today. Most recent projects have diverse influences and multicultural background. such as my 2022 single “Sex” that was a breakout hit, resonating with audiences abroad and even earning nods from industry giants like LL Cool J and Jadakiss. This momentum continued with “Physical,” my latest single, which drew inspiration from the vibrant energy of local soca and reggae dancehall events. Released in 2024, “Physical” has already amassed over 100k views and garnered 50k plays on streaming platforms like Spotify and Amazon Music.

Finally i recently meet with Rel Carter at Rocnation where we produced a distribution deal that would benefit not only me, but the label. The first single to be debuted is God Given which is already becoming a fan favorite online and on streaming platforms.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has been alot of obstacles, from trying to learn how to network better, to financially being able to support a career that takes alot of money. Sometimes having to forgo the luxuries of life just to support my dreams wasnt easy and. I had to understand that aswell, Sometimes being as talented isn’t a good thing for people especially those who see you as competition or they are managing a artist and you maybe better than there arris which isn’t good for business so they maynot want to work with you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I see myself now as a musician/hiphop artist . I feel im much more than just a rapper I make music. I believe what sets me apart from the rest is the love and creativity of making music. I like to step outside the box with my music at the same time I touch your emotions with my words and beats .

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe when I make music im taking a risk each time by pushing the envelope. From song like child support talking about mens child support or Sex a remake of the original song but alittle more risky its all in art of creativity.
