Daily Inspiration: Meet Frankee Lu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frankee Lu.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Originally I’m from Boston, Ma. I moved down to Atlanta with a dollar and a dream. I’m a recording Rap artist but I probably wouldn’t even say just Rap, I do more than just that. I’m a musical creative is more like it. Since being in Atlanta my journey has had many ups and downs but as of recently collaborating with Lil Scrappy and his label TCE I have stamped my way to be the 1st Lady of the record Label. I have been touring the country with him and making amazing connections in the industry. I have just been blessed with this opportunity and I can’t wait to see where my career will take me next.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not smooth at all. I’m also a single mother, my sons father past away when he was young so moving out here no help no family was a wild decision and that alone of balancing motherhood and my career choice has been very challenging. Then breaking through typical industry perceptions and expectations of being a female rapper comes with its own challenges. I could go on for days about that but maybe another time. This path I’m on isn’t easy but you have to be delusional enough to believe it’s all worth it. Stick to your morals be kind to yourself and others. Trust the process

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well as stated before I’m a recording artist. People have referred to me as a female Drake. I can do it all any type of genre and it’s a vibe. My new project is dropping this month! I’m so excited it’s called “Frankee Shit” and basically it’s just a body of work that’s just me. I love records where I can talk my shit but I’m also a lover girl so I love cute R&B bops you can just vibe to on a daily drive or a workout. My music really reflects my life when I’m in Love you can hear it, when I’m sad you can feel it. lol so that Frankee Shit is just a vibe of my own emotions. Most female artists music is just sex. I like to have more to say that in my music. I mean it’s in there but it’s not raunchy. You just have to listen to get what I mean lol

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Funny fact is people hear my music or see me out a lot and think I’m an extrovert when really I am super shy around new people. But that doesn’t mean I’m stand offish which people mistake because I have RBF. lol. But once you get to know me I talk all day long laughing and joking. If I could tell the readers it’s to never judge a book by its cover. Be kind. Be thoughtful. And never give up on your dreams
