Today we’d like to introduce you to Harold Hart.
Hi Harold, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my career in the U.S. Air Force as an HVAC Technician, where I developed a strong foundation in the trade. Originally from Tampa, Florida, I later relocated to the Atlanta area in 2002 and continued building my career in HVAC while working with organizations such as Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, Dekalb County Jail, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the City of Atlanta.
After meeting and marrying my wife, Brandy Hart—who also relocated to Atlanta from Tennessee—I was inspired and motivated to become an entrepreneur. With her support and vision, I started the company in 2008 and later reinvented it in 2020. Over the past two years, the business has experienced its fastest growth. I credit much of that success to the talented people and contractors I’ve had the privilege of working with here in Atlanta, where the expertise and dedication are truly second to none.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road—it’s been full of ups and downs, moments of doubt, and the stress that comes with operating a business. Some of the biggest challenges have been balancing family life with the sacrifice and commitment required to run a company, as well as navigating financial capital and maintaining strong credit. Like many business owners, I quickly learned that success requires more than just technical skill—it’s about building a standard, establishing a brand, and staying resilient through the obstacles.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Hart Mechanical and Facilities Services, we specialize in HVAC and facilities management, delivering everything from preventative maintenance and service to large-scale system replacements and retrofits. We’re known for our ability to take on complex projects in environments such as airports, correctional facilities, healthcare institutions, and public-sector buildings.
What I’m most proud of is being able to make it happen with minimal resources in the beginning and then watching the company grow into what it is today. That journey—proving what’s possible through persistence, hard work, and building strong relationships—is what truly sets us apart. Our commitment to integrity, accountability, and delivering quality service at every level continues to drive us forward.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is creating a legacy for my children to inherit. I never had that same opportunity growing up, so building something lasting that they can benefit from and carry forward is deeply important to me. It’s about more than just running a business—it’s about laying a foundation that provides security, opportunity, and pride for the next generation.
