Daily Inspiration: Meet Iana Skye

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iana Skye.

Hi Iana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Atlanta in 2010. I got into acting and entertainment. I went on to teach a successful acting class and then opened my own talent agency. That put the spark back into me and got back into acting. As of recently, I filmed season 1 of a reality show called Women in the Life Atlanta that is streaming on Tubi. It focuses on the lives of women in the LGBT community. As well as features a Transman (which he represents the T in LGBT). We will begin filming season 2 in June 2022. I am also doing my 3rd Annual LGBTQ Adult Prom in Atlanta during this year’s Atlanta Black Pride. Aside from the reality show and events, I have two Airbnbs I host in Atlanta and Midtown. So I have been pretty busy the last year!!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has had some ups and downs along the way. As far as just finding my niche in the entertainment industry. I wrote a short film three years ago and have yet to film it. Procrastination is one of my flaws. But I am working on it! I want it have it filmed by the end of the year.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I think my passion is one of my qualities that has gotten me as far as I have come. I am proud that have been able to become a full-time Entrepreneur with hosting Airbnbs and having a tax company. It gets hard sometimes, but I’m always able to pull through and come out on the positive side.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I loved animals. My childhood was not like most. It was sad. My short film shows some of what I went through. Some if it has affected my adulthood in good ways and bad. I was adventurous and still am to this day. On the honor roll from 1st to 5th grade. But never much-liked authority or being told what to do, so that explains why I have an entrepreneurial spirit!
