Daily Inspiration: Meet Izy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Izy.

Hi Izy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Originally I’m from Pensacola, FL. I moved to Jacksonville, FL back in January of 2021 and then, after having my son in 2022, eventually moved to Georgia in April of 2025.

I really don’t like titles, but I guess I would say I’m a creative. However, music and writing music was my first love; it got me my first kiss and got me through my first heartbreak.

When I was 11 years old, I would literally write out the lyrics to my favorite songs in a composition notebook, then eventually started writing my own songs.

I didn’t get to really go to an actual studio until around highschool when I met my boy Rodnayraps who was going by the monicer “ArT” at the time. He had a friend named Zach, who had a home studio setup and that was my first time really experiencing the process of recording music. Zach had a band called “Vagrants”, so he was pretty seasoned when it came to mixing and mastering and making music all together. Far more than I was at the time.

By 2023, I fell away from music for a while and didnt release anything that whole year. I was going through a rebirth period because I started to feel like music might not workout how I had been dreaming for years. I mean, I had just had a son and was trying to figure out how in the hell was I going to take care of and provide for him. On top of the fact that me and his mother were having problems in our relationship.

So around this time I stepped away from music and started making content on TikTok about life, love, mental health, relationships, spirituality etc. I figured I could be a voice for people who needed answers just as badly as I did. I’ve always wanted to help people in some way and if music wasn’t going to be it, then I was still determined to use my voice. I never truly left music or stopped making music, however. In fact, I started to release music again in 2024.

By 2025 going in to 2026, it dawned on me that I can do both. Not to mention the fact that, with the way that people’s consumption of music has changed, artists absolutely have to be doing something else other than music to retain the attention and following of fans and listeners online.

Stream “Habibi” by Izy on all platforms!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! But honestly, I dont think any purpose driven journey will have a smooth road, but thats what makes it so great. That’s what makes it all so worth it. That’s the beauty of it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say that I am a music artist. As far as what I do, I do whatever my heart calls me to do.. which is create, and I create from what I feel, from what I experience, from what I’ve learned.

I am known for being the one who reinvented the wheel.

I’m most proud of the fact that even after putting in my 10,000 hours, I’m still here, still strong, still fighting for the things I love and believe in.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
All my socials are “@izyuniverse”

However, the biggest help would be you streaming my song “Habibi” on your favorite platform!
