Daily Inspiration: Meet Janice Harris-Joseph

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janice Harris-Joseph.

Hi Janice, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I decided to drive a school bus for Dekalb County due to my husband traveled in the transportation field as a Car Hauler, so I can be more flexible with our child.

In those years of driving a school bus I saw a need where parents including myself wanted their kids to attend other schools out of their cluster and had more than 1 child and it was hard getting them to after school activities.

In 2016 I started my business, JTJ youth Transportation to help those busy families commute their kids to and from school.

My 16yrs of experience in transportation and Customer service is how I am able to stay in business.

I am currently in business servicing Gwinnett County and some of Dekalb County Private and Public Schools.

My love for working with kids and being part of their Education Journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My only struggle is having to be the head of my maintenance for my vehicles. No experince in the car repair field and trying to keep a good and honest mechanic has been my nighmare but still holding on.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am involve all around in my business, Drive,Hire,Train and Promote.

I am Proud to say my parents really appreciate my business.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me, is getting these kids SAFELY TO AND FROM THEIR DESTINATION.
