Daily Inspiration: Meet Jasmine Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Davis.

Hi Jasmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am an Atlanta native born in the city but eventually made my way out to the suburbs. I am a first generation graduate from savannah state university majored in mass communications with a concentration in video & audio production. I quickly learned that my degree did not afford me the opportunities that I thought it would. For several years I worked in customer service at various jobs yet still feeling unfulfilled. Fast forward to 2019, I finally found a job that I liked but didn’t pay enough. Later on in that year I found a job that paid well but after only two weeks of working there I was let go. I’m currently a mother of two and needed to make some tough decisions and quick! 2020 was an eye opening year for me and with the extra time I had on my hands I was motivated to start a business.

I launched a candle business and before that I had just finished my real estate classes. I had to take control of my life and make sure that I wouldn’t allow a corporate job create my future. R & R Self Care LLC was born and the name originated from my girls I wanted to create a legacy for them! Now that I’ve successfully launched a business it was time for me to buckle down with my real estate career. January 2021 I became a licensed realtor in the state of Georgia! My wildest dreams were finally becoming a reality! I’m thrilled to help out my city that I love so much and am always accepting new clients.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the challenges that came with the candles business were things like figuring out what was needed and making sure I had everything in compliance. Being fresh to the entrepreneurial journey and not really knowing what to expect that was a struggle. You definitely put in way more hours being an entrepreneur than you would at a 9-5 but the rewards are greater because it’s something you’ve done on your own. Now with real estate I find it hard to find the time to complete classes and balance family life but I’m sure once I get into my groove I’ll find a way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My real estate business is JD Properties, which is a business that strives to really teach financial literacy to all its clients. We not only want to assist you with your real estate needs but we strive for you to gain as much knowledge along way. We specialize in educating the homeowner in buying, selling and investing real estate. I’m most proud of being an agent who truly cares about her clients beyond the sale! Our slogan is getting you the key to your dream home!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Biggest lesson learned was to be organized and never let doubt or fear deter you from living out your dreams. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it!
