Daily Inspiration: Meet Jason Cesario

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Cesario.

Hi Jason, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a love for music as a kid growing up, at a young age I wanted to play saxophone In elementary and would listen to Kanye, 50 cents, Chris Brown all the way to New Edition on my CD Player. By the time I got into High school I was already finding my way In FL Studio and had a lot of homies trying to find studios or producers to lock in with so I decided my best option was to learn both sides of producing and engineering. Since 18 I’ve been 100% committed to becoming successful with my beats, just perfecting my craft every day. Tryna push myself to go harder every time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely had obstacles along the way, I feel like being from Chicago we have a lot of producers and artists waiting to blow but never reach their full potential because they’re from a certain part of the city or be around a certain crowd. I learned that I had to lock myself in a studio for months to focus on bettering my craft, even changing who I hung around or I would work with. Having a support system is important too, even when it comes to family. Can’t even count on my hand how many times my family gave me a ride to the train just so I could make it to my session or even the people I work with helped me out.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a producer & an engineer, I have been making beats since I was 15 or 16 and started taking music seriously when I hit 18. By that time I was networking on instagram and met someone who let me come to their studio. After working with them for a couple of months I knew I needed more experience to make my beats sound the way I really wanted them to sound so I decided to start engineering to help me survive. Feel like that was the best decision I could’ve made because it allowed me to walk in to studios and rooms I would’ve never thought I could walk into. Also, think that’s what set me apart from a lot of other producers too. I like to think I’m a perfectionist, I try to get the best sound out of a record every time. I love music, people who know me know how passionate I am about it. I’m proud of how far I’ve gone with music and who Ive got to meet or worked with, might not be where I want to be at right now but that’s what I love about this, It’s a journey.

How do you think about happiness?
Making beats. I can’t really explain it other than it just feels like I’m in my own world. I express myself through my beats. My family is another thing too. Whenever I get low sometimes just talking to my family helps when I can’t make beats.
