Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmia Battle.
Hi Jazmia, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a model, dancer, actress, and writer. I started pursuing a professional career in the arts after graduating from North Atlanta High School with a degree in the Performing Arts. That path would eventually lead me to have a resume that consist of Debbie Allen’s Brothers of The Knight, Disneyland Resort Paris, Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre’s Black Nativity, Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls, Big Momma’s House 3 as Diva #1 alongside Martin Lawrence, A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song, Dames Aflame Burlesque Troupe Josephine Baker Tribute and Lil Miss Egypt, Cheesecake Boiz and The Diva, Joseph Jones Funeral Home as Kendall Michelle, Eurotard Dance Catalog, Complexions Contemporary Ballet Summer Intensive, and The BET Hip Hop Awards as a model on the red carpet. I’m a class of 2022 Georgia State University Perimeter College graduate with an Associates of Arts degree in Journalism. I have a blog called moodsofaphrodite.blogspot.com that is curated around women empowerment.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
All of the opportunities that were destined for me came along in a harmonious and easy manner, but I have had challenges when it comes to finding representation that can really understand and hone in on my artistic visions.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a model, dancer, actress, and writer in the Atlanta area. I’m probably most known for dancing for Beyonce on Oprah’s Surprise Spectacular and The Billboard Awards, where Beyonce was honored as Woman of The Millennium, Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls, being in the musical ” It’s Dance Time” at Disneyland Resort Paris and being Diva #1 in Big Momma’s House 3 alongside Martin Lawrence. I’m most proud of the blessing of making a living off my passion for the Arts. What sets me apart is the broad subject content on my blog and my wealth of experiences in the entertainment industry.
