Daily Inspiration: Meet Jeremiah Bridges

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Bridges.

Hi Jeremiah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Jeremiah Bridges is not just my name but my Brand. From gospel, funk, and jazz to pop hip hop and R&B, I’ve been blessed to perform it all. My musical journey started when I was two years old. My uncle bought me a jr Drum set for my birthday and I found myself captivated by the sounds and beats I could make. Fast-forwarding several years, I was granted the opportunity to perform live on television for the veteran Christian church children’s choir. It was this experience that made me realize that I was born to do this. After a series of music theory lessons and recommendations from Erik Page (notable musician in the Atlanta jazz scene) I became a professional musician playing in church. In middle school, I was awarded many musical accolades as a student, as well as my first secular gig with a teacher of mine Mr. John William flautist of Atlanta, GA. This opened up my resume as a musician and prepared me for multiple tours with a quartet singing group by the name of The Koonce family, as well as different show bands throughout the Metro-Atlanta area. My musical journey hasn’t stopped there and it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. Currently, I am an artist and I have a solo Ep out entitled “A New Beginning EP”. This project is a result of inspiration from shows I’ve done throughout the years. I am thankful for where I started, but even more thankful for where God is taking me.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I grew up in some pretty challenging neighborhoods, and for a while being jumped on at school robbed, etc. was a challenge for my career. Many times I was used for my gift and wasn’t compensated for my time and efforts. There were so many times where I wanted to quit and give up, but I’m glad that I didn’t.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I consider myself a musician, artist, producer, and creative. Over the last ten years, I have been molding my craft into a business. To set myself apart from others, I no longer consider myself just a Drummer or just a musician. Today many may know me for being a great drummer who has taken the industry by storm. Many of them don’t know that I also write music for others and sell beats as a producer. I am most proud of being blessed with a beautiful son! No amount of work can replace the love I have for him. My determination and will to continue is strongly influenced by him.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk taking is very important in my line of work because without risks, I feel that you set yourself up to be mediocre. The Bible says, “faith without works is dead, and I feel like we take a risk everyday with life itself. My favorite term is “high risk, high reward, low risk, low reward because even in my 23 years of living, I’ve taken some high risks and they have all given me high rewards.
