Daily Inspiration: Meet Jessica Noel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Noel

Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in the summer of 2016 while working in the corporate world. With a bachelor’s in Human Performance and Recreation from Claflin University, I realized I wanted to pursue a career that aligned more closely with my passion for health and wellness. This led me to enroll at the Atlanta school of massage, where I gained invaluable knowledge about the body and therapeutic benefits of massage.

In the fall of 2018, I was hired at a Black-owned med spa filled with some amazing individuals; I later discovered my growing interest in the aesthetic side of the beauty industry. Wanting to expand my skill set beyond massage therapy, I pursued an opportunity to apprentice under a successful Black-owned esthetician. That began the turning point in my career, which turned my passion into purpose. From 2020 to 2022, I dedicated myself to learning the trade, gaining hands on experience, and developing the expertise needed to become an esthetician.

Every opportunity and challenge along the way has shaped me into the professional I am today. While the journey has had its ups and downs, I am incredibly grateful for the experiences that have brought me here. I’m excited for what the future holds for both me and my business!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. In 2022, after being blessed with my first child, I faced challenges in figuring out what life would look like and how to return to my career. I missed connecting with my clients, being in the studio, and working alongside those who had trained me. However, I had to navigate a new path, balancing my passion for work with my new role as a mother.

I also struggled with self-doubt and believing I could do this on my own. I had always been in a space where someone else handled the business side while I focused on the work itself. Stepping out on my own meant not just practicing my craft but also running a business—something that felt both exciting and overwhelming.

I can’t say I felt completely ready when the moment came, but I reached a place of understanding that I was capable. Despite the challenges and setbacks, I found a way to push through. I’m still learning and growing, my business is still evolving, and I’m embracing the journey every step of the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My business, WaxdByNoel, specializes in full-body waxing, eyebrow shaping, waxing, tinting, and staining. I also offer eyelash extension services, including classics extensions, hybrid, volume, and wispy sets.

I’m best known for waxing, especially full-body and Brazilian waxing or eyebrows—anything related to hair removal. That’s my specialty and what clients come to me for the most.

What I’m most proud of in my business is the care and dedication I put into it. I truly value connecting with my clients and paying close attention to their needs. Customer satisfaction is always my top priority. While I have policies in place to ensure mutual understanding, my main focus is creating a welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable, cared for, and leave feeling their best.

What sets my business apart is the personalized approach I take with each client. I don’t treat everyone the same—as I see each person as an individual with their own needs and experiences. I strive to create a welcoming and friendly environment, especially for first-time wax clients, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease. My goal is to provide the best experience possible, going above and beyond to make every visit feel top-tier.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was the time my sisters and I decided to go to a haunted house for Halloween. Growing up in a religious household, we didn’t typically celebrate Halloween but as we got older, we agreed to step out of our comfort zone and give it a try.

That experience was both the scariest and funniest thing we had done together in a long time. We ran through that haunted house like we had lost our minds! We laughed the whole night with reminiscing the events from that night; it was in that moment I was reminded how much fun we had just being together as siblings. I truly miss times like that.
