Hi Jimmy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up a creative in a small town in South Bend, IN. Unfortunately for me, there weren’t many opportunities. I remember working at Little Caesar’s as a young adult and hating every minute of it, constantly thinking about how I could change my situation. At the time, I was passionate about music, but Drake stole my flow lol!
My passion for music led me to video, and after making $250 from my first video, I was hooked! I became the number-one videographer in my city and somewhat of a local celebrity. But not everything was sunshine and rainbows. My current reality of success was shattered when a job turned into an altercation that left me at gunpoint.
By this time, I had a daughter who was about to lose her father for a $500 video… but God saved me. I immediately knew that something needed to change, so I started to pursue other avenues in video, such as commercials. I was soon recruited by a local marketing company that shifted my mindset and inspired me to really start my business and move back to Atlanta.
Since then, I’ve been here working with major companies such as VCA, United Way, KFC, Shopify, and Amazon Music, creating amazing commercials as well as killer social media content. The goal is to grow by helping as many people as we can to leverage the power of video and to be one of the biggest black-owned media production companies in the world!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a team has been a rewarding, but eye-opening challenge, filling in the gaps of knowledge that were missing prior, learning to be a leader, payroll, and creating systems.
