Daily Inspiration: Meet Jojo White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jojo White.

Jojo White

Jojo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started in standup because I was seeking happiness in things like drugs, girls and Debbie cakes, but couldn’t find it.

I eventually found that laughter filled the emptiness inside and ran with it, like really fast. I was runnan!

With consistency, trial and error, and studying I started to become good at standup comedy.

Now I travel all over the US and slang jokes for some change

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Standup will never be smooth. I always say you have to lose a bit of feeling inside to get to new levels.

Standup is the last of free speech so the obstacles can differ from the audience, bookers, other comics, not having many food options after a late show so settling for Taco Bell and throwing it up 2min after

There’s always struggles

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a standup comedian. I’m know for being funny without ever being raunchy or cussing and by the end of the show making you feel like family. All of that sets me apart.

I don’t really get proud of my stuff, I’m just thankful to work and make others happy with laughter.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risks are apart of life. If you don’t take them then you’ll never get anywhere. You’ll just end up doing the same “safe” thing every single day of you life blah live a little

Standup is a huge risk cause it’s never guaranteed. It’s a big hole that you throw money, time, and gas into, but it’s fun.
