Daily Inspiration: Meet Kasi Reilly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kasi Reilly

Hi Kasi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have painted my entire life but it did not become my “career” until 6-7 years ago. Prior to that time I would create for friends but decided to really put myself “out there” and apply to galleries and to participate in local art shows.I put myself on a 5 year plan- give it your all for 5 years and see what happens. I honestly could not imagine doing anything else!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There are definite struggles along the way but I have learned art is subjective. Not everyone is going to like what I do but I have learned that is ok. Me- five years ago-thought everyone needed to like my art. Also comparison is the thief of joy. With social media, it is so easy to compare and honestly feel resentful but I have come to realize if another artist is successful then I can be successful too. There are plenty of walls that need art:)

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an artist that is represented by galleries, home decor stores and by selling directly through commissions.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The artist community is a very friendly community. I have actually met some of my best artist friends from
Participating in local shows.
