Daily Inspiration: Meet Kela Ward

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kela Ward.

Kela Ward

Hi Kela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got started by having a love for reading and writing at a young age. I also inherited the spirit of volunteering and wanting to help others achieve their goals in life from my mother. This inspired me to write several stories, a screenplay, and a television series script. It also inspired me to begin assisting people with developing and perfecting their resumes.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I am a believer that if something in life is worth it and you value it, the road will not be a smooth road. For example, your relationships with others will have its ups and downs. Some of the struggles I have endured along the way include not being able to self-published my first book until recently. I began writing my book in 2013, finished in 2015, and was not able to self-publish it until early 2023. Some of the other struggles I have endured include finding time to write. I am a mother of two – one daughter and one son – whom I raised alone as a single mother. This limited my time in which I could dedicate to writing and the amount of funds available to assist in achieving my goals.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I write books and stories that inspire people and give them a glimpse into my life, describing how I have overcome some situations. I am most proud of the work that I have done because it comes directly from my heart. What sets me apart from others is that I inspire others through my life stories and other situations that I have personally witnessed. I specialize in inspiring others and inspirational stories.

How do you think about luck?
Personally, I do not believe in luck. I believe that everyone’s life is ordained for certain paths. I also believe that everyone has a God-given talent. Obstacles come to slow you down or make you want to give up on your dreams. When obstacles arise, you should not give up. The obstacles that have arisen in my life has motivated me to do better and gave me strength, along with my children and the support of my loved ones.
