Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Boyd.
Hi Kendall, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in the podcast game in 2018. I literally wanted an opportunity to show my thoughts, my story, and my words with the world because I felt I had something to say that needed to be heard. 300 episodes and counting and no interest in stopping or slowing down. I want to be the voice for those that have so much to say but are afraid of actually saying it. Podcasting is my safe space it’s the only place I feel I just have to be me and I’m accepted for it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, the road has not been easy I’ve been blackballed, canceled and told my show wasn’t good enough by people who had never even taken the time to listen. I spent many days believing in my product even when others didn’t have time. I wanted to pack it up and give up and there were times I used that as motivation to keep going.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a podcaster originally from Chicago, IL. I pour everything I have into my craft, every idea, every edit, every breath of this comes from myself and my cohosts to put on the best show we can every week. We specialize in discussions of relationships, sex, love, music, men, women, culture, and uplifting with no filter just our thoughts and judgment-free. We are known for bringing nothing but authenticity every time we press record. What I am proud of most is I kept it going despite all the hang-ups, all the no callbacks, all the ins and outs comings and going. We kept it together and supported loved and believe in each other and that’s what separated us from the others. We stood for each other myself, my wife, Mrs. Chaunte John Day and Ms. Delafaye.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is what you decide it’s not society, not the world. Success is feeling a sense of pride knowing you are doing your best even when to others it doesn’t feel like it. Success is knowing you left it all out there win, lose or draw. Success is knowing you got a set of eyeballs believing in you and will stand by you when others don’t that’s success to me.
