Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Foote.
Hi Kevin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been an adventurous person willing to try to new things such as skydiving and expose these activities to others. There were several jobs in my journey that gave me valuable skills toward what I know today. I was an orientation guide with Georgia State University, a performer with Big Apple Circus and I volunteered with many non-profit organizations in Atlanta. These experiences made me comfortable and outgoing to a various of people. My friends and family would always refer me to guide their out-of-town friends with tips on a fun weekend. So I decided to make it into a business where I would guide small groups on local tours in the city or more adventurous excursions out of the city or even the country. I have made some amazing friendships along the way and the job never gets boring.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say the “flake” factor has always been a struggle to deal with. I would come up with all the details for a great event for a client or group and they would get excited initially but some would cancel at last minute or have financial issues come up. I just keep it moving.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create adventure events for individuals and groups whether they want to do a city tour of Atlanta or an out-of-town excursion like hiking or camping. I also provide pet care while they are away on vacation so their fur kids are covered. I cater it towards whatever their comfort level is so it’s not intimidating. I am proud we also collaborate with volunteer organizations to bring together people for a good cause.
