Daily Inspiration: Meet Khrusha Parekh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khrusha Parekh.

Hi Khrusha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up by the sea in Mumbai—at the very heart of Bollywood and the advertising world. Surrounded by vibrant colors, larger-than-life stories, and creative campaigns at every corner, I fell deeply in love with storytelling. But for the longest time, I was afraid to bring that same boldness into my own work.
As I began exploring my creative path, with my undergraduate degree, I naturally gravitated toward design and animation—mediums where I could finally channel all those stories and colors that had inspired me growing up. Then along came SCAD and its Motion Design program, which felt made for me. It brought together everything I loved —storytelling, advertising, animation, and film —in one place.
The program opened so many doors. I got to experiment across different mediums, collaborate with incredibly talented people, and truly find my voice as a designer. Now, as a motion designer, I can proudly say I have the skills to work across any industry that needs dynamic visual stories. From brands and films to digital and social content—I’m ready to bring that same colorful energy and passion to wherever the work takes me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a creative, so much of your worth seems to boil down to how people react to your work—whether they “get it” or not. There are several questions from those who don’t understand the scope of what it means to work in a creative field, and navigating those doubts while trying to find your way, your niche, your style can feel like uncharted waters.
But through all that uncertainty lies hope—the hope that keeps you going. It’s what makes you strive for that moment when people come to your work and are genuinely moved by it. When someone sees your logo animation for, say, Pringles, and suddenly they’re craving a good crunchy chip because of what you created—that’s when you know you’ve made it. That’s when you know you’re doing something right.
In these uncertain waters, it’s the community that helps you get there. Your family, who dared you to believe in yourself. Your peers, who kept you persistent and striving for more. Your professors, who gave you the vision to design with purpose. They’re the ones who remind you why you started and push you to keep going, even when the path ahead isn’t clear.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in 2D motion design and illustrative storytelling. What sets my work apart is the balance I strike between playfulness and thoughtfulness—vibrant colors and dynamic sound design meet layered visual metaphors with intentional motion that invite deeper observation.

I remember, during my undergraduate days, when we first learned about the art of using Easter eggs in design. That concept completely transformed how I approach my work. Since then, I’ve made it a point to weave underlying meanings into everything I create—subtle details and metaphors that may not be immediately obvious to the naked eye, but can be felt through emotion and careful observation.

I’m most proud of that duality in my work: the ability to create something that’s instantly engaging and fun on the surface, while also rewarding those who look closer with hidden layers of meaning. It’s that combination of joy and intention that I believe makes my designs memorable and impactful.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Community is everything. As creatives, it’s so easy to work in isolation, but that’s one of the biggest mistakes you can make. The support of your friends, peers, and mentors will take you further than you can imagine. They’ll catch things you miss, offer perspectives you hadn’t considered, and push you to be better.
That’s the beauty of collaboration—it rewards you throughout your entire career. No big task can ever be achieved on a whim or in isolation. It’s always the combination of everyone’s strengths, ideas, and insights that makes something truly impactful.
So my advice? Find your people. Build those relationships early. Share your work, ask for feedback, and be generous with your own support. The creative journey is so much richer—and so much more successful—when you don’t tread it alone.
