Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Walters.
Hi Kiera, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been interested in anything involving fashion. I had all the Bratz Dolls, the clothing, even the Bratz sewing machine. I used to also watch America’s Next Top Model & Project Runway. Both of these shows display different components that are needed to execute a final look. Hair, makeup, & accessories are important as well when putting together a look because it shows how versatile you are. Besides me studying fashion heavily at a young age, throughout my time in school I was always best dressed from elementary to high school. Ms.PutItOn herself However, there was not always smooth sailing in my life. I’ve faced hardship during my lifetime, but even in the midst of hardship I never looked like what I’ve been through so this is what makes me feel so strongly about appearance & fashion. This is how I was able to show my creativity. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University majoring in Fashion Merchandising & Apparel Design. While attending, I met one of my favorite people, Ber short for Bernika. She’s a friend but I consider her my sister. She played a major role in why I created my styling page. I used to style her outfits for different events & she always felt like it came natural to me like it was something I was born to do. I know that this is what I was born to do so why not make it a lifestyle?
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road, I feel that the most common thing we as humans do is doubt ourselves & procrastinate. Procrastinating is what prolonged the making of the account, but I always had the vision. The doubt came from the start of my brand. I created a brand called the Blueprint in November of 2020. I launched my signature hoodies & started making sales, but not at a rapid pace. Sometimes things will not take off as quickly as you would want but pick up overtime. It gave me insight into the business world & entrepreneurship. Experiencing the ups & downs prepared me for whatever I may encounter along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a fashion stylist & I recently started as a Style Advisor at Aritzia in Lenox Mall. I specialize in the creation of outfits & meeting the customer expectations of creating looks for a specific occasion or event. I am known for my versatile fashion sense & skill to pay attention to detail. What I am most proud of is how I am able to presevere through whatever situation life throws at me. I make the best of every situation & keep God first. I know that I am blessed & highly favored.
