Daily Inspiration: Meet Killian Gribble

Today we’d like to introduce you to Killian Gribble.

Hi Killian, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated high school, and despite being unsure of the path I was interested in taking, I moved to Athens, Ga to attend University of North Georgia. After 2 years I was still having a hard time finding what I wanted to pursue.

I was home on a holiday break + went to see my hair stylist Laci Matteson. We were talking about hair + how she got started and she encouraged me to go tour a hair school just to see if i had any interest!

I visited Mak beauty institute + a few weeks later applied to join the program. Through hair school I apprenticed under Emily Rose everyday after school, learning more modern techniques, observing, learning how she ran her business etc. She was truly a blessing during my hair school experience, she constantly pushed me to be better + never let me get to comfortable with the idea of just being an assistant post hair school!

After graduating hair school, I worked at Meraki salon in Roswell for 8 years taking my own clients!

In the last year I have recently opened my own hair salon “Hair by Killian” in Milton, Ga!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When opening my first salon, I would say the only struggle I found is, you’re now officially your own boss. Which has lots of great perks but that also means anything + everything responsibility wise
is now up to you.

So, It’s safe to say i’ve made several calls for help when maintenance issues arise at the salon. lol.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a hairstylist,
specializing lived in color, blondes + natural tones.

I am most proud of having clients able to go 6-12 months between colors + coming in still saying “I am still getting compliments as if i just got it done!”

I think what sets me apart from others is my desire to not make clients feel like hair has to be constantly maintained. I want color that can fit every lifestyle. Every 4-6 week highlights aren’t for everyone + i want your color to continue to feel fresh for months following your appointments!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
The one trait I think i recall most growing up is my love for animals. I grew up with really every pet. Turtles, mice, rats, dogs, cats, bunny’s! I wanted it all! And honestly i’m still the exact same now! I have three rescue dogs + would have 10000 more if I could!
