Daily Inspiration: Meet Kristen Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Wilson

Hi Kristen , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After graduating with an art degree, I worked as a decorative painter, painting murals, faux finishes, etc. Alongside that work, I started an interior design blog, where I made lots of designer friends. Interior Design was definitely in my DNA – from a young age, I was rearranging my room, buying new bedspreads and decor, and always enjoyed a tour of homes with my mom. In 2015, I was invited to work on an HGTV show, which quickly followed as the lead production designer on a different DIY network show. I pivoted to the interior design world as a career, and haven’t looked back! It was a great decision.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are certainly struggles & learning curves, like every job, but the payoff is always the best when you see a client walk into a room that has been fully installed and the design has become reality. There is nothing like helping someone make a house a home!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Interior Designer. I think clients come to me for a trendy design aesthetic, coupled with a nod to tradition. I love mixing the 2 styles in unexpected ways!
