Today we’d like to introduce you to Latasha Hill.
Hi Latasha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a healthcare leader, mentor, and advocate with 20 years of experience in medical imaging and radiology services. I currently serve as the Director of Radiology Services at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA. Atrium Health Navicent is the leading provider of healthcare in central and South Georgia where I lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee complex operations, and focus heavily on quality, access, and patient-centered care.
My journey in healthcare has been shaped by perseverance, faith, and a deep commitment to serving others. I began my career in healthcare as a student technologist, and I’ve been blessed to grow through every level of imaging—from Radiologic Technologist to Supervisor, then Lead Technologist in Mammography, followed by Manager, and now Director of Radiology Services. That journey has shaped how I lead today because I understand firsthand what it takes to deliver excellent care on the front line, and I bring that same perspective into every decision I make as a leader. One of my proudest accomplishments has been writing and securing two -million dollar congressionally funded grant for a mobile mammography unit—an initiative rooted in my passion for expanding access to life-saving screenings and meeting women where they are.
I’m also passionate about sharing what I’ve learned through speaking and mentorship. I’ve had the opportunity to speak at nationally recognized professional events and leadership settings, and being selected as a commencement speaker is one of the accomplishments I’m most proud of because it reflects not only my career growth, but my desire to inspire others to keep going and believe in what’s possible.
Outside of my professional role, I’m a wife and mom, and learning to balance leadership, family, and personal growth has been one of the most rewarding and challenging aspects of my journey. Some mornings as I also love to travel, as it allows me to reset, gain new perspective, and stay inspired—both personally and professionally. And honestly, some days on my way to work you’ll find me listening to inspirational gospel music, and other days it might be Tupac or Cardi B, because I truly believe in balance. That mix keeps me grounded, motivated, and fully myself.
Beyond healthcare leadership, I’m also a podcaster who enjoys creating space for honest conversations around growth, purpose, and navigating both career and life. At this stage of my career, my focus is not only on leading departments, but on building legacy through mentorship, access, and empowering others to believe in what’s possible.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of my biggest challenges has been navigating growth in spaces where I was often one of the few and still establishing myself as a leader. Earning credibility while continuously learning required resilience, confidence, and the ability to advocate for myself and my ideas.
Balancing leadership responsibilities with personal growth has also been a challenge. As my roles expanded, I had to learn that sustainability matters just as much as success—setting boundaries, asking for support, and being intentional about mentorship were key lessons.
Each obstacle refined my leadership style, strengthened my voice, and reinforced my belief that challenges aren’t roadblocks—they’re preparation for the next level.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love that every area of my work whether its healthcare, speaking, mentoring or podcasting connects me with people. What sets me apart is my ability to connect vision with execution. I don’t just talk about change, I build the plan, develop the people, and create sustainable systems that elevate quality, safety, and access. I’ve also learned through every season of my career that perseverance matters. I’m not meant to sit at everyone’s table, but I definitely know how to create my own table-one that makes room for purpose, excellence, and others coming behind me. Through mentorship and speaking, I’m intentional about pouring into the next generation of healthcare professionals so they can grow, lead, and thrive.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The outlook for healthcare-especially women’s health—is focused on one major priority: improving access to care. Health systems are expanding community-based solutions like mobile screening programs, virtual care, and partnerships that help reduce barriers such as transportation, cost, and limited provider availability.
At the same time, workforce shortages and burnout remain a major challenge and directly impact appointment access and patient experience. That’s why my next endeavor is centered around mentorship—supporting and developing the next generation of healthcare professionals and helping them grow into confident, sustainable leaders.
Overall, healthcare is moving toward more proactive, community-centered care that improves outcomes by meeting people where they are. I will continue to shape the future of healthcare by leading with purpose, breaking barriers, and creating sustainable systems that improve access, quality, and equity for all patients—not just a select few.
