Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTonya Herring.
Hi LaTonya, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been in business for 20 years this year. Coming from working with the IRS, Jackson Hewitt and Liberty Tax, I decided to pursue my own company Visions Tax Solutions and Services, which not only just serves tax preparation, but to give people a better understanding of their taxes. Some people started business under our watch and some businesses came to us to help get them organized and get out of some terrible circumstances. We devote our time and energy to helping with all issues concerning their tax situations as much as possible. I even wrote some books to help give a blue print of things that matter to look for with our Visions Tax Guide and the book I wrote on Entrepreneurship called “Pain In My Window – Road to Entrepreneurship” These books I felt would serve as guides to understanding tax and business issues. We have clients in both Georgia and Wisconsin but have expanded into other states with so many other new clients from California to Florida. Our business has grown from word of mouth more than any marketing tool used.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’ve struggled with capital, marketing and many issues being in offices or spaces where things went wrong such as roofs leaking into our unit and costing us to leave, we’ve had other issues with expanding and some issues during covid where we had to downsize.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being a entrepreneur and author has been rewarding because I am still able to help people either way. As an author I am known as Author Sunrize Jackson. Being able to tell my stories and pour into others helps me feel like I am definitely working on a purpose which is helping others to accomplish, overcome and strategize moving forward.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is creating a plan and without quitting you strategize and complete the task. Not only to say you got it done but the work speaking for itself through the people you helped to change their life.
