Daily Inspiration: Meet Latrice Sharp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latrice Sharp.

Hi Latrice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In October 2012, I embarked on a faith journey with God as I moved from Dayton, Ohio to Atlanta, Georgia a place where I had no connection. This journey of faith has been filled with highs, lows and everything in between however it has been the best experience of my life. If asked to do again, I would say yes! Why, because it has caused me to really discover who I was called and created to be along with my true purpose in life. Learning the true and authentic me has launched me in leading, teaching and inspiring others to become comfortable with their creative self, which is a part of what I have been called to do.

As I begin to discover, uncover and embrace my true self, I began to impart that wisdom, knowledge and understanding to others through the means of creative worship and arts. My faith in God is what has been the stabilizing and driving component in my stand over these years. I am confident that the work that God started in me will be fulfilled in my lifetime.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been filled with challenging times but my faith in God has kept me standing firm that I can and will make through. Instability is a part of any transition, whenever we are faced with change there has to be time for adjustment. I came from a life that everything was planned out. However, throughout this faith journey, the plan has not been laid out like I was used to dealing with so then learning how to trust God and remain at peace when times of struggle are at hand have been a process that I have walked through many times. I went from a place of permanent to a place of temporary and once I understood that my life has transitioned from what I was accustomed, the place of change has been a little more smoother each time.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the founder of Called to Worship a prophetic and creative arts worship training ministry headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

As an ordained minister, my passion is to teach and help others gain understanding concerning pure and creative worship, that has been at the forefront of my ministry. My gift to teach began to grow as I developed a heart of worship and started to learn about the ministry of flags. I then began to lead and train others on how to enter in the presence of God through praise and worship creatively with flags. Thereby, it has been my desire to develop and cultivate others in the area of creative arts and prophetic worship. I have trained, started flag ministry teams and mentored flag worship leaders in Ohio and Georgia for over 15 years for the purpose of shifting the atmosphere conducive for the glory of God to manifest miracles, signs and wonders. I have traveled nationwide ministering in prophetic worship at workshops, conferences and as a guest worshiper.

My gift of teaching is continuing to grow through writing two published books “The Worship Warrior” a ministry training manual and my latest release “Preparing the Way for the Lord” the lifestyle of a worshiper. I also have an online and virtual flag and worship school called “The Waves of God” for all levels, including leaders. My creativity has expanded to the production of worship tools for worshipers to use during praise and worship, the first installment launched mid 2021.

What sets my ministry apart is that I believe that everyone has to ability for creative worship and just may need some coaching to come forth. I believe in working with those who think that they cannot do it and show them that they can. I also look for and build other leaders. When I see leadership ability, I will pull on that gifting and help the individual activate it. I am proud to be one who teaches and leads others who then goes forth and do the same. When I see those whom have been inspired by me in some way are now using what they learned, it brings me great joy.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
As a child, I was very shy and timid. However, I loved dance and cheerleading so my mom put me in dance classes. I can remember how when I tried out for the cheerleading team for 6th grade the girls were more advanced. This did not stop me from gaining a spot on the team but it did cause friction because I didn’t fit in. You may say how is this a favorite memory well it is because, I overcame adversity and faced my fears. I learned how to work hard for something I desired and to become really good as a cheerleader. I enjoyed being a cheerleader on the team and eventually became a coach. I enjoyed being a cheerleader on the team and eventually became a coach later in life. This experience was the beginning of me discovering my gift to teach and lead others.
