Daily Inspiration: Meet Lauren Phillips

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Phillips

Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After becoming a mom in March 2023, I really began seeing a fresh new perspective on life and how I wanted to spend mine. After more than a decade in the corporate world doing PR and corporate communications (with, honestly, a huge lack of work/life balance), I made the decision to leave my corporate job to focus on being a mom, helping my husband Mike grow his art business, Morningside Art, and to ultimately see where my love for photography could maybe take me.

I’ve been so proud and inspired by my husband’s passion behind his art and that really fueled me to fulfill the desire to create a little something of my own. I’ve always loved photography. It’s been intriguing to me for years – the way imagery can tell stories and capture moments before they become just a distant memory. So I thought it was time to turn my passion into something more. Cue LVP Collective! I launched in November 2023 and I’m so proud of everything I’ve created thus far, and super excited for all that’s to come.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Two words: imposter syndrome. It’s hard not to doubt yourself sometimes when playing the comparison game with other photographers and creatives. I’m continuously needing to remind myself that I’m not even a full year in business quite yet so I cannot compare my successes to another who has been in the business for 5+ years. This is certainly a struggle I’ve started to overcome – I’ve really found my photography style and I have a very clear vision of what I love and where I want to see LVP Collective go in the next few years. The positive and grateful feedback I receive from my clients has also been so overwhelmingly wonderful!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
LVP Collective is focused on family, parenthood and lifestyle photography capturing those memories that matter most in a family’s journey through life. From major milestones to those little moments in between that make up the years. My sessions range from maternity, motherhood, newborn, family and childhood milestones – I also offer professional headshots and senior portraits and have worked with brands to provide branding and product images.

I offer two package types. 1) My Motherhood Bundle which is includes a maternity session and a newborn session and 2) my The First Year package which includes a maternity and newborn session as well as a 6-month milestone session and first birthday session with a cake smash.

I have a small natural light studio space in the Morningside neighborhood that’s perfect for maternity and newborn sessions if a studio vibe is preferred vs outdoor or in-home.

With an eye for the details and a passion for storytelling, I strive to capture your everyday, unedited, authentic selves all while making the experience seamless and stress free — my goal is to make our time together fun and laidback. I thrive on natural light and candid moments, and I deliver a photography style is lifestyle/documentary-focused.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
In addition to small business owner and photographer, I’m also a full-time stay at home mama to my 17-month old daughter!
