Daily Inspiration: Meet Laykon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laykon.

Hi Laykon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been creating since a child, but in the recent years have turned the creative vision towards photography.
After picking up a camera for a short while, someone I respect in the art community called me the best female photographer in Atlanta. I am now constructing a business around the photography- shooting birthdays, events, concerts, families, and whatever else you can name. I have begun to build a name for myself through photography and hope to be able to capture whatever you need!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been pretty smooth going about the creative side, but the only struggles have been learning the business side of things.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a painter, photographer, art educator, community organizer, and visionary. I have worked in film for a few years as well, being used to production in the entertainment industry. I’m proud that everything I do creatively stems from my faith in God. God inspires me to do everything I need to do daily. Creativity is a way of life. I approach everything with love, truth, and ensuring my faith is incorporated in everything I do.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Atlanta because it’s an epicenter of creativity and honesty. There’s real people here with genuine love and lives. I don’t like the people coming in and changing the vibe of the city, telling people they from Atlanta when they don’t have the Atlanta vibe.
